Bridges & Crowns
So natural looking, you won’t want to stop smiling.
If you have missing, cracked, broken or damaged teeth, a crown or bridge may help to restore your smile and your confidence. Made of porcelain or ceramic material, they can be matched to the colour of your natural teeth, enabling them to blend in perfectly.
A crown is a single tooth that covers the entire surface of your existing tooth, whereas a bridge replaces a missing tooth or teeth. The bridge is cemented to your natural teeth on each side of the gap, which are then covered with a crown. The replacement teeth are attached to these crowns. Once in place, your bridge or crown will look like your own natural teeth.
Bridges & Crowns are designed to:
- Replace a large filling where there is not enough tooth remaining
- Strengthen a weak tooth and protect it from fracturing
- Fill in missing teeth or a gap in a smile
- Cover a discoloured or poorly shaped tooth
- Cover and strengthen a tooth that has had root canal treatment
- Restore a fractured tooth
- Cover a dental implant.
While you may think a missing tooth is not something to be concerned about, it can lead to problems later. When you are missing one or more teeth, the remaining teeth may drift or fall into the empty spaces.
Teeth can be lost due to many reasons, but there is no reason why you should live without your teeth, as dental implants can provide a completely safe way of replacing a number of missing teeth.
Implants are replacement teeth that look, feel and function just like natural teeth.
A dental implant is essentially, a medical grade titanium screw, placed into the jawbone to replace a missing tooth root, this fuses with the jaw bone to allow a secure platform for tooth replacement.
If you have lost all of your teeth, or are gradually experiencing tooth loss, this procedure offers a revolutionary alternative to traditional dentures. All of the replacement teeth on either the upper or lower jaw are supported by only 4 implants. This is a common procedure in our practice today, with many people choosing to have these strong, non-removable, natural looking replacement teeth.
We perform all the procedures in our surgery, eliminating the inconvenience to you of moving between practitioners.
If you would like to know whether you are a good candidate for implants, make an appointment to discuss the treatment with us. We will examine the condition of your mouth and gums, explain your options and provide you with a detailed quote for the procedures.
